As a partner of the Hamburg Start-up Network, the University of Hamburg offers its founders and those interested in starting a business a wide range of support and services through its Start-up Service.
As the largest research and educational institution in northern Germany and one of the largest universities in Germany, the University of Hamburg combines a diverse range of courses with excellent research and offers a broad spectrum of subjects with numerous interdisciplinary focuses. Those interested in starting a business thus have the opportunity to gain expertise from around 170 degree programmes in a total of 27 departments in the 8 faculties.
The services offered by the Start-up Service and the TransferAgency are aimed at all registered students and doctoral candidates at the University of Hamburg as well as all graduates up to two years after graduation.

The University of Hamburg's start-up service, as an integral part of the TransferAgency, offers all students, alumni and researchers interested in starting a business competent advice and support for business start-ups from academia.
We provide initial and follow-up advice on business start-ups and freelancing for innovative ideas from the university sector on the phone, by e-mail or on site.

Qualification
The University of Hamburg's Start-up Service sees itself as your service institution for preparing your start-up idea and making it successful. There are various workshops, events and networking opportunities specifically on the topic of starting a business. The University of Hamburg's Start-up Service offers individual appointments for start-ups, start-ups and UHH alumni in cooperation with Hamburg Innovation GmbH.
Funding
As part of the EXIST funding programme, the WTT is responsible for the administrative management of EXIST project applications and approved EXIST projects. The support is provided in cooperation with Hamburg Innovation GmbH.

Space
The UHH promotes business startups within the framework of EXIST by providing and using rooms, equipment and other infrastructure. The WTT provides support if required.
